CID Consultants were commissioned by Holcim Australia to complete the detail design and assist with construction of their concrete batching plant on Barrow Island, which shall produce some 300,000cum of concrete over the LNG project construction life.
The plant is a dual stream wet concrete batching and mixing plant with a maximum capacity for each plant of 120m3 per hour. The documentation completed comprised: 6 x aggregate storage bins and covers; plant foundations; plant, conveyors, weigh bins, mixers, silos, support structures, stairs, gangways, pipe rack, ladders, etc; ice & chilled water plant; bulk cement storage (guppies)and inloading facility; potable water storage tanks, pipework, pumps, controls and all associated equipment; diesel fuel tank and appropriate spill containment bunding; concrete wash down pit(s), waste water treatment pit(s) and recirculation infrastructure and stormwater pond management.
